I’m Feeling Fugle

This was inspired by the music of Dave Fuglewicz who came to me by way of a tape he sent to GAJOOB Magazine for review in 1989. He sent several albums for review over the years and was one of the early founding members of Tapegerm Collective. He left a vast catalog of music prior to his passing which is available on the Internet Archive.

His music was often based on his expertise with analog modular synthesis as pictured below. He was an engineer by trade.

I posted one of Dave’s tapegerms as a Daily Tapegerm on March 21, 2025 and began modeling it, first instrumentally and then as a song with lyrics which evolved into a humorous song about spring and feeling “fugle.”

PUBLIC TRACKS

No.2
no.1

It’s Friday (or is it Saturday?)
And I’m feeling particularly fugle
It’s Friday (or is it Saturday?)
And I’m turning up the sod
It’s Friday (or is it Saturday?)
And my outlook is much less futile…
It’s Friday (or is it Saturday?)
Thank God

[chorus]
And I’m feeling fugle
I’m feeling fugle
I’m feeling fugle whatever that might mean
I’m feeling fugle
It could be it’s spring — ask Google
I’m f-f-feeling fugle
Come fuglewitz with me

They’ve torn the building down
Across the street from where I live
And I just have to say the new horizon Looking out across at the Target is
Pretty downright swell
More or less, it’s keen
I might suggest one thing
Oh, what the hell…

And I’m feeling fugle
I’m feeling fugle
I’m feeling fugle whatever that might mean
I’m feeling fugle
It could be it’s spring — ask Google
I’m f-f-feeling fugle
Come fuglewitz with me

Hey, hey, boys (what?)
Here’s your brand new toy
Come fiddle with these knobs
My gates are not a ploy
Hey, hey, boys (WHAT?!)
Oooh, come and feel this pitch wheel
Yes, let’s, L.F.O. the waves
And filter what you crave
Dip your sign into this sawtooth
And come modulate my way…

[chorus]
And I’m feeling fugle
I’m feeling fugle
I’m feeling fugle whatever that might mean
I’m feeling fugle
It could be it’s spring — ask Google
I’m f-f-feeling fugle
Come fuglewitz with me

It’s Friday (or is it Saturday?)
And my outlook is much less futile… hmm
It’s Friday (or is it Saturday?)
Thank God

[chorus]
And I’m feeling fugle
I’m feeling fugle
I’m feeling fugle whatever that might mean
I’m feeling fugle
It could be it’s spring — ask Google
I’m f-f-feeling fugle
Come fuglewitz with me

Blind Mime Ensemble is a multimedia art project by Briyan Frederick.

Blind Mime Ensemble is virtually fronted by Riyan and Freyd, two enigmatic, mimes who navigate a surreal, ever-shifting world of sound, silence, and absurdity. Their blindness is fluid—sometimes self-imposed, sometimes real, sometimes performative—as they search for meaning, expression, and each other in an evolving landscape of experimental and electronic pop music, visual storytelling, and conceptual art.

Their performances blur the lines between dreams and reality, chaos and order, seeing and unseeing.

Blind Mime Ensemble VS is a secondary project where BME creates albums from audio seeded from other artists, Tapegerms, videos, found recordings and more. It’s more experimental glitchy electronic and explores the boundaries of modern composition with AI and other methods.

Blind Mime Ensemble Variations  is where we explore variations of found sounds, art and maybe other things. These explorations result in album-length pieces. Send us something for us to into something new.
